We want our guests to enjoy their stay in Broken Bow as much as we do – and we enjoy our trips there very, very much!
During our first visit to Broken Bow, our son enjoyed exploring the great outdoors.
The photo at the top of this page was taken by Jennifer from the top of Carter Mountain and shows Broken Bow Lake in all its glory.
Located in the highly desirable area of Broken Bow, Timber Bear is tucked away on over an acre of land with mature pine trees and an accessible creek. With the best of both worlds, Timber Bear is private and mainly secluded yet is just minutes from Broken Bow Lake where there are plenty of outdoor activities and Hochatown with its many coffee shops, restaurants, shopping, and more.
Being so close to Broken Bow Lake, Ouachita National Forest, and Hochatown allows for all sorts of activities to truly make Timber Bear your perfect getaway! Bring your canoe (or rent one locally) and paddle the lake, or hike the national forest, and then get some awesome pizza in town or even a fancy dinner. Enjoy ice cream and coffee while watching the sunset and finding that perfect memento of your trip at one of the local specialty gift shops. There’s even a local brewery.
The cabin easily accommodates four people. There is a king size bed in the master bedroom and a queen size sleeper sofa that has an added mattress topper. There is a spacious and unique extended deck with a hot tub, log burning fireplace, dining area, propane (provided) grill and there is a beautiful deck extension that goes into the wooded area of the property to a covered sitting area with lighting and a ceiling fan.
Enjoy outdoor fires either on the covered deck in the fireplace or under the stars at the campfire pit – firewood is available at many of the local stores. You could even have a fire in the outdoor fireplace while enjoying the luxury hot tub that has been fully drained, sanitized, refilled and treated for your arrival.
Kids will love exploring the creek (bring boots and bug spray) and roasting marshmallows is a must! Fun fact – the name of the creek is Timber Creek, but we did not know this until after naming the cabin Timber Bear. We felt our name was meant to be after discovering this.
Forget something? There is a wonderful local grocery store just a few minutes South on Highway 259 – be sure to check out the vintage train engine while you’re there! In fact, there’s a whole lot of charm throughout the area, with many little spots of local history and lore.
Inside the cabin, you’ll find a gas burning fireplace in the living room, a 55″ HDTV with DVD and Blu-Ray player, Wi-Fi throughout the cabin, a fully stocked kitchen with both a Keurig Coffee Maker as well as a traditional coffee maker; K-Cups and filters, sugar and creamer are provided, as well as tea and hot cocoa.
There is a large master bedroom with a luxurious king size bed in a gorgeous Aspen log frame and French doors leading to the deck, and the bathroom is equipped with a large soaker tub, spacious shower (with a double shower head), and double vanity with copper sinks.
Timber Bear is full of bears – see if you can count them all! However, these bears are the only “pets” allowed at our cabin. We appreciate your understanding as Timber Bear is currently not able to accommodate pets.
